FOOTBALL WAS A MEANS TO BECOME TOUGHER AND FEARLESS.

TERRY BAKER, HEISMAN TROPHY WINNER, ROMAN GABRIEL AND RON MILLER (THREE RAM Q.B.'S )CAME TO WORK OUT ON OUR FIELD AT FAIRFAX HIGH. FOR ONE DAY I PLAYED WITH THREE PROS.

RAY MAY WAS BORN IN SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES AND I WAS BORN IN SIBERIA IN A LABOR CAMP. WE PLAYED FOR THE SAME TEAM AND WERE BORN ONE DAY APART JUNE 4 AND JUNE 5 IN 1945. THINK ABOUT THE ODDS OF THAT HAPPENING. I AM STILL AMAZED. GO WORLD GO.

ALL-LEAGUE DEFENSIVE END AND LIBEBACKER IN HIGH SCHOOL. LINEBACKER IN COLLEGE 155LBS.

I LEARNED TO PLAY TACKLE FOOTBALL AND LOVED WATCHING THE KENNEDYS PLAY

RAY MAY WAS MY TEAM MATE AT LOS ANGELES CITY COLLEGE.

WE BOTH PLAYED MIDDLE LINEBACKER. I WAS 155LBS AND RAY WAS 220LBS AND WAS ADE OUT OF GRANITE.

HE WENT ON TO USC , BECAME AN ALL AMERICAN, AND THEN WENT ON TO BECOME AN ALL PRO WITH THE BALTIMORE COLTS AND HIS Q.B. WAS JOHNNY UNITAS.

THIS PHOTO SHOWS HIM INTERCEPTING A PASS IN THE SUPERBOWL THAT HE WON.

HE ADOPTED 4 KIDS AS A SINGLE PARENT.  HE WAS A RIPPLE OF HOPE.

PLAYING FOOTBALL TAUGHT ME THAT IT REALLY DID NOT MATTER HOW BIG ONE WAS BUT HOW BIG THEIR SPIRIT WAS.    NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

THE WORLD NEEDS MORE RIPPLES OF HOPE THAT CROSS EACH OTHER.
